Those less informed constantly bring up the problem of the Mexicans when it comes to the culture of the United States in flux. They forget the rest of Latin America sneaking in as well. But, fairness is important and there is an out of control inflow of other people too.
Eastern Europe
Eastern Europe is the weak part of the European Union. The workers from there must go to western Europe for employment, which is easy under the Constitution of the European Union. Russians, when not able to find employment in the thriving eastern European pornography industry come to western Europe along with fellow Slavs. Not to be included in this group are the hard-working Estonians, Lithuanians and Latvians.
It is foolish not to assume a great percentage of these people are undocumented as well as the Mexicans. Bukhara, which is a part of the old Soviet empire, has sent a large contingent that dominates large swaths of New York City. Not to worry, since Mayor Bloomberg welcomes all to his sanctuary city but not to his weekend island getaway.
Asia Is Here
Chinese, Koreans, Indians, Pakistanis, Filipinos, and many more countries have sent their “overage” to take up residency in many cities. Those that do not notice this, but only the Mexicans are not up to date. New York City and surrounding areas are completely dominated by Chinese, Indians and Koreans. There are others who think as long as people come legally, all is well. Do not believe the government figures about percentages of foreigners here.
There is not enough work to be done here and all is not well. Must residents of New York City bring a dictionary with them when going in to buy a newspaper or a cup of coffee? Apparently this is the case many times, though it is somewhat of an exaggeration concerning the dictionary part. Does anyone care anymore?
