The Illegal Alien ’Jobs Americans Won't Do‘ Scam

We've heard it before, but not from our president! And right after his re-election, no less. The man couldn't have expressed his contempt for the voters who elected him any more thoroughly than the insult of telling them they're lazy and don't want to work!

After all, what American would ever consider being a truck driver, construction worker, computer operator, cook or 1,000 other jobs, including nurses, doctors, lawyers or entrepreneurs?

Three recent examples of deported illegals explode the myth of "they only take jobs that Americans won't do."

Juan and Patricia Castillo lived in Clarion, Iowa for nine years while he worked at a local agricultural sprayer manufacturing plant and she worked at Electronic Data Systems. Fabian held a construction job in Licking County, Ohio for two years before being picked up for driving without a license. And an illegal family in Missouri lived for 13 years after overstaying their visa, with the wife working as a school district teacher's aide and the husband as a driver in the Office of the Governor of Missouri.

All these are jobs Americans would not only do, but jobs Americans routinely held until the illegal immigration waves flooded the American job market, making it more and more difficult for Americans to secure full-time work.

American workers don't have the privileges that illegals do. Americans can't accept "under the table" cash wages, because the IRS would investigate why they've apparently disappeared from tax rolls. They can't accept the low wages illegals do, because they won't be provided with the "supplemental public assistance" that illegals get from both public agencies and non-profit "charities." They can't qualify for welfare and publicly-paid medical care with no questions asked. Americans are expected to pay their way; illegals are offered all sorts of assistance.

Need more proof that illegals commonly take jobs that Americans would do? Illegal alien advocates cite the $7 billion in "contributions" by illegals to Social Security taxes under counterfeit cards. What they don't tell you is that payroll withholding taxes are a sign of mainstream jobs, not picking lettuce or "day labor" jobs.

The Bear Stearns estimate of 20 million illegals makes even more obvious what we all knew: 20 million illegals are working somewhere, and we know they're not all picking lettuce!

The llegals Work Harder

"They don't and we all know that.

The baby boomers will be retiring and we need illegal aliens to fill the labor shortage created by retiring baby boomers.

We're supposed to believe that third-world, unskilled illegals with grade-school educations will fill vacancies left by experienced professional and technical retirees? If there's such a desperate need for these unskilled illegals, why are so many on street corners waiting for pick-up work?

A business world anticipating such a shortage would do everything possible to retain its "baby-boom" employees rather than push them out the door prematurely with "retirement packages."

This "labor shortage" is just another myth. Those old enough to remember liken this to the Great Depression when men waited for work at assembly areas. And we all know that the Great Depression represented jobs shortage, not a worker shortage.

Is This Really True?

Even though the president and his "open borders" crowd think we're dumb, we all know Americans routinely earned a living with these jobs, raised families and lived good lives. Until post-1965 mass third-world immigration flooded the U.S. labor market, depressed wages and expanded the "multicultural" underground economy so common in third-world countries.

In previous columsn, I have identified not only the "pitch," but the "pitch man." That's handy for the future by enabling you to ID new scams just by their salesman. For example, knowing that Senator Ted Kennedy is the key person responsible for the 1965 "Immigration Reform" Act that changed the "key" for immigrating to the U.S. from "economic responsibility" (the immigrant's ability to be self-supporting and not be a public charge) to "family ties" (they have a relative already in the U.S.), that enabled U.S. entry by massive third-world immigration, would you accept any of his future "reform" proposals like the Jackpot Amnesty?

I know I wouldn't. Nor would I believe any of Kennedy's allies on the immigration issue. Like Senator John McCain. During the 108th Congress, McCain introduced S-1461 for President Bush's "guest-worker plan." My three-inch pile of "constituent reply" letters assuring me that Senator McCain opposes illegal immigration mean nothing when he consistently introduces and co-sponsors such legislation. The "open-borders," big money and big business crowd couldn't ask for a better defender of their interests.

When McCain claims that ending illegal immigration would "shut down the homebuilding industry, the resort industry and the restaurants that we patronize here in our nation's capital," what more official word could we ask that another industry has been added to the list of "jobs Americans won't do?"

McCain's interviewer hit the nail on the head with his secondary comment to the quote, adding that McCain was "referring to jobs generally held by immigrants, many of them illegal, in industries that serve moneyed Americans." U.S. immigration has always benefited the country's employers and wealthy, as it does today.

Those of us who attended American schools before adoption of the UNESCO curriculum learned that the Republican Party historically supported high immigration levels and the Democratic party opposed them. After their arrival, immigrants became Democrats because they recognized the disaster to them by continued mass immigration. That the picture has changed today reflects how both parties have embraced the "global economy" despite its disastrous effect on Americans and their country.

What's Sauce for the Goose ...

We all realize the advantage given an illegal employee in the underground economy, but it's easy to overlook the benefits it offers to the employer. We know about the costs and taxes the employer evades: workers' compensation insurance, unemployment taxes, employers' Social Security and Medicare taxes (7.65 percent). But there's even more.

Actually, the Bear Stearns report tells a great deal about the attraction of employers for illegals, and it's more than just cheap wages.

Hiring illegals enables the employer to operate in the underground economy where earnings and profits remain hidden from taxes. We know that workers' earnings in the underground economy are tax-free, but company earnings are hidden as well. Lower profits means lower taxes for the employer/company, and that drops directly to the company's bottom line.

That $311 billion in "uncollected taxes" cited in the Bear Stearns report wasn't limited to personal income taxes on individual earnings; it also includes uncollected corporate taxes as well.

What Leads to 'Immigrant Industries?'

The two most common reasons: employers who want cheap labor or to eliminate labor union. Since the 1980s, industry after well-paying industry has been sent overseas, including manufacturing and textiles. Well-paying jobs that couldn't be sent offshore, such as construction, landscaping and meatpacking, suddenly were eliminated in labor disputes or lockouts, and eventually replaced by illegals.

Truck drivers expect their jobs to be the next taken over by illegal aliens.

The 2002-2003 case of Tyson Chicken revealed clearly that illegal employees don't just drift northward looking for work. They're recruited in their home countries by employers or labor brokers, and arrive in the U.S. complete with forged documents. It's only recently that newspapers have carried stories of human smuggling rings that clearly showed what we've all known for years: Illegal immigration is big business, from top to bottom.

As you can imagine, businesses notorious for hiring illegals didn't get there by accident; they've made a conscious decision to do so. They know the need to keep a legal distance, and ensure that employees always have genuine-looking documents.

That was effective in the past, but the Workplace Verification Program threw them a curve. The employer uses the phone or the Internet to verify that the applicant's Social Security number and name match what's on Social Security Administration records. When the employer receives a "no-match" from SSA, the employer loses excuses of "we're not document experts" or "we didn't know he was illegal." That's why legislation to change the program from voluntary to mandatory have been opposed in Congress by both big-business and illegal alien advocates.

But how does an industry or workplace come to be "taken over" by illegals? Former construction workers as well as young fast-food restaurant workers know the drill. First, a Spanish-speaking foreman is hired as a translator, and soon English-speaking employees are excluded from conversations. Citizens find their parked cars vandalized and tools stolen.

A friend told me of forcing her 19-year old daughter to quit her fast-food job upon learning that she was subjected to sexual harassment by illegal employees. Reports of such harassment to management fall on deaf ears. The employee can appeal to EEOC, but remember that EEOC is an federal executive cabinet agency whose head is appointed by the president. How aggressively will such an agency (under the authority of an "open-borders" president) pursue such reports?

Knowing the deck is stacked against them, citizen employees quit in disgust. Predictably, their vacancy is filled by an illegal.

Illegal aliens cross America’s borders medically unexamined. We shrug. We do not know what Illegal Aliens carry in their backpacks. We do not know what they carry in their bodies.

Long ago we knew what legal immigrants brought with them. When my grandpa came to America, he kissed the ground of New York’s Ellis Island, then he stripped naked and coughed hard. Every legal immigrant before 1924 was examined for infectious diseases upon arrival and tested for tuberculosis. Anyone infected was shipped back to the old country. That was powerful incentive for each newcomer to make heroic efforts to appear healthy.

Today, legal immigrants must demonstrate that they are free of communicable diseases and drug addiction to qualify for lawful permanent residency Green Cards.

But Illegal Aliens stop at no medical checkpoint. Whoever walks through our foolishly open Golden Door comes in healthy or sick. If a border patrol sentry catches a healthy Illegal Alien he might be sent back home immediately. However, if we catch and detain a sick Illegal Alien, who after examination by physicians in a detention center proves to have a serious disease, we keep him! Foolish compassion makes us fear that his home country has neither adequate medical resources nor modern wonder drugs. So we release sick Illegal Aliens to the American streets, to infect others if their diseases are contagious, or we place them in our Medicaid program where we pay for their expensive treatments.

Foolish medical generosity encourages clever Illegal Aliens to exploit free medical care that EMTALA, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, provides.[1] Foolish medical graciousness encourages cynical Illegal Aliens to take and take and take again.[2] Only a foolish guest will refuse what a foolish host offers. Our wide-open Golden Door guarantees that Illegal Aliens in their own self-interest will use and abuse our medical system. Our Golden Door also is propped open thanks to advocacy and legal aid of Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Foundation, National Immigration Law Center, Southern Poverty Law Center, and similar open border groups.[3] America is fast becoming Hospital to the World.

Horrendous diseases that long ago America had conquered are resurging. Horrific diseases common in Third World poverty and medical ignorance suddenly are appearing in American emergency rooms and medical offices. Along with the visible invasion of Illegal Aliens across our borders is an invisible invasion of deadly diseases.[4]

Many illegals who skulk across our borders have tuberculosis (TB). That disease had disappeared from America thanks to excellent hygiene and powerful modern drugs such as Isoniazid and Rifampin.[5] ,[6] ,[7] ,[8] ,[9] ,[10] TB’s swift, deadly return now is lethal for about 60% of those infected. The culprit is the new Multi-Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB).[11] Until recently MDR-TB was endemic to Mexico.[12] ,[13]

The mycobacterium tuberculosis is resistant to at least two major TB drugs. Ordinary TB usually is cured in six months with four drugs (that cost about $2000). MDR-TB takes 24 months with many expensive drugs with toxic side effects (that cost around $250,000).[14] ,[15] Each Illegal Alien with MDR-TB coughs and infects numerous people who will not show symptoms immediately. Latent disease explodes later, like a time bomb.

TB was virtually absent in Virginia until in 2002 it spiked a 17% increase, but Prince William County, not far from Washington, D.C., had a meteoric rise of 188%. Public health officials blamed immigrants. Indiana School of Medicine in 2001 studied an outbreak of MDR-TB traced to illegal aliens from Mexico.

The Queens, New York, health department attributed 81% of new TB cases in 2001 to immigrants. The Centers for Disease Control ascribed 42% of all new TB cases to “foreign born” people who have up to eight times higher incidence.[16] ,[17] ,[18] ,[19] ,[20] ,[21] Apparently 66% of all TB cases coming to America originate in Mexico, the Philippines, and Viet Nam.

Virulent TB outbreaks afflicted schoolteachers and children in Michigan,[22] ,[23] and adults and kids in Texas.[24] The teachers and kids caught it at school from coughing children of Illegal Aliens. In Minnesota, policemen suddenly came down with MDR-TB. The cops caught it in their patrol cars when they arrested Illegal Aliens who coughed in their faces. Recently TB erupted in Portland, Maine, and Del Ray Beach, Florida.

Chagas Disease has no known cure. Chagas has the revolting nickname of kissing bug disease. The Reduviid bug has parasites that favor the lips and face for infection. That noxious Trypanosoma-Cruzi protozoan annually infects 18 million people in Latin America and causes 50,000 deaths.[25] ,[26] ,[27] ,[28] ,[29] ,[30] ,[31] This seditious disease also infiltrates America’s blood supply. Chagas affects blood transfusions and transplanted organs. Hundreds of blood recipients may be silently infected.[32] After 10 to 20 years, up to 30% will die when their hearts or intestines, enlarged and weakened by Chagas Disease, burst.[33] Two people died of the three people in 2001 who received Chagas-infected organ transplants.

Leprosy, a scourge in Biblical days and in medieval Europe, so horribly destroys flesh, faces, and fingers it was called Disease of the Soul.[34] Lepers quarantined in leprosaria sounded noisemakers when they ventured out to warn people to stay far away. Leprosy or Hansen’s Disease was so rare in America that in 40 years only 900 people were afflicted.[35] ,[36] ,[37] ,[38] Suddenly, in the past three years America has more than 7,000 cases of leprosy. Leprosy now is endemic to northeastern states. There are leprosy clinics in New York City. Illegal Aliens and other immigrants brought leprosy from India, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Mexico.[39] ,[40] ,[41]

Dengue Fever is exceptionally rare in America though common in Ecuador, Peru, Viet Nam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Mexico.[42] Recently there was a virulent outbreak of Dengue Fever on the Webb County, Texas, border with Mexico.[43] Though Dengue usually is not a fatal disease, Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, is one strain of the disease that routinely kills.

Polio was eradicated from America but now reappears in illegal immigrants.[44] Intestinal parasites were mostly obliterated. Our fine sanitation and microbe-safe food supplies made them disappear. But they are back, in the bodies of Illegal Aliens.[45] ,[46] ,[47] ,[48]

Malaria was obliterated but now is re-emerging in Texas and other states.[49] ,[50] ,[51] ,[52] No mosquito that bites a person infected with malaria checks identification papers before biting another person to transmit debilitating fever.

About 4000 young children under age five annually in America contract the infectious disease called Kawasaki Disease. Youngsters develop fever, red eyes, “strawberry tongue,” and acute inflammation of their coronary arteries and other blood vessels. Many suffer heart attacks and sudden death.[53] ,[54]

Hepatitis A, B, and C are resurging.[55] ,[56] ,[57] ,[58] An outbreak of Hepatitis A in 2003 near Pittsburgh endangered 3000 thanks to infected Mexico-grown scallions and Illegal Alien kitchen workers in a Chi-Chi’s restaurant. Two Americans died. Asians number 4% of Americans but over 50% of Hepatitis B cases. We inoculate all newborns for Hepatitis B although mainly Asians are susceptible.[59] Why? The answer is political judgment not medical judgment.[60]

Deadly Marburg disease, like the fierce hemorrhagic Ebola, right now in April, 2005, is devastating Angola.[61] Physicians in that African country are despairing as hundreds of infected people bleed to death. Just one infected person who could walk through the Golden Door of our Hospital to the World could be a suicide bomber with incendiaries in his arteries, veins, or capillaries.

ILLEGAL ALIEN MS-13 GANG: IMMIGRATION’S THIRD WORLD MOMENTUM

According to Newsweek, March 28, 2005, over 10,000 MS-13 gang members illegally crossed our borders looking for a better life, too. While playing soccer, a 12 year old kid is shot dead by MS-13 members in Reno, Nevada. In Somerville, Massachusetts, two gang members rape two teen girls in Foss Park. Both are deaf--one is in a wheelchair. In Fairfax, Virginia in May of 2004, MS-13 gang members give chase to a 16 year old and hacked him up with machetes. The victim suffered loss of four fingers. A man named Ebert Rivera is arrested February 10, 2005 in Falfurrias, Texas. His crime? Rivera led six gunmen who opened fire on a bus in Honduras--killing 28 people. In Long Island, New York, police find gang members shot in the head and stabbed to death.

Machetes on Main Street America are the theme of Mara Salvatrucha MS-13 gangs now operating in dozens of US cities. We’re not talking Disneyland. ‘Mara’ means ‘posse’ and Salvatruchas means ‘street tough Salvadorans’. The number ‘13’ is a gang number associated with Southern California. “They kill cops, distribute drugs like candy machines, extort businesses and concoct drive-by killings as standard operating procedure. “We’re not dealing with Boy Scouts or bums,” Tony Saca said. “We’re dealing with true assassins and rapists.”

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t President Bush supposed to protect Americans from enemies both foreign and domestic? Didn’t he swear to uphold the Constitution, specifically, Article IV, Section 4? Would 10,000 armed and deadly alien nationals constitute a domestic enemy from a foreign land?

Because Bush aids, abets and encourages illegal alien migration--the Russian Mafia operates in NYC, 18th Street Gang with 20,000 illegal alien members in Los Angeles, Chinese Mafia in New York, Hispanic Bloods and Crips in Los Angeles, and now, we suffer a crime invasion from El Salvador.

How many imported criminals from around the world? Newsweek reported 700,000 gang members operate in America. The MS-13 gangs are considered the fastest growing and most violent. It’s called Third World Momentum.

Those gangs bring drugs, lawlessness and fear to our cities. They bring other consequences, too. Who are the victims of drugs? Our children! Who pays for the 29 percent of illegal alien criminals in our Federal and State prisons at an annual cost of $1.6 billion? What are the costs of rehab for drugs to American families?
