Will Illegal Aliens Decide Who Will Be America's Next President?

Whichever candidate finally wins in Florida and goes on to become our next President, he will have been put over the top by the votes of non-citizens -- including illegal aliens -- voting in mass numbers.

How could this be possible? Blame the National Voter Registration Act, commonly known as the Motor Voter law, which was signed into law on May 20, 1993 after passage by the slimmest of margins. Under this federal law, conceivably, millions of non-citizens and illegal aliens were automatically registered to vote when they applied for their driver's licenses or welfare benefits.

The Motor-Voter clearly states that "[e]ach State motor vehicle driver's license application (including any renewal application) submitted to the appropriate State motor vehicle authority under State law shall serve as an application for voter registration with respect to elections for Federal office unless the applicant fails to sign the voter registration application."

The Clinton Administration applied their famous "don't ask -- don't tell" strategy to the Motor Voter law's implementation by warning Motor Vehicle Department employees not to ask if an applicant is a citizen or tell them that non-citizens cannot vote.

Under the Motor Voter law, anyone [Motor Vehicle Department employees included] who "knowingly and willfully intimidates, threatens, or coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any person for registering to vote, or voting, or attempting to register or vote" violates federal law.

Hence, the hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, visa overstayers and others classified as "refugees" who were granted amnesty or asylum by the Clinton Administration could all have been illegal voters in this election.

How many ineligible voters actually took advantage of the Motor Voter law by registering to vote? In Florida, according to the Florida Secretary of State's numbers, between 1994 and 1998 (the most recent data available), the number of registered Hispanic voters skyrocketed by an astonishing 557%, from 99,000 to 655,000 while the number of White and Black registered voters increased by a reasonable 15 %.

The number of registered Hispanic voters has grown even more dramatically in south Florida. For example, in Dade County, from 1994 to 1998 the number of Hispanic voters grew by 1996%, a nearly 20-fold increase! And in now-famous Palm Beach County, the four year increase was completely off the charts, a 7,220% jump!

While Florida's numerous attractions and climate may have attracted new residents from other states, most would concede that this unbelievable spike in new voters must come mainly from one source -- new immigrants.

Certainly, there were resident aliens who applied for and were granted citizenship and, as a consequence were lawful voters in the 2000 election. Citizenship USA, the Clinton-Gore administration's high-priority immigration program achieved its goal of adding a million new immigrants to the voter rolls nationwide by 1996, waiving citizenship requirements wholesale to sign up as many voters as possible before the 1996 election.

But there were tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ineligible voters who went to the polls and canceled out the votes of American citizens of all colors, races and creeds, men and women, including veterans who served with honor defending our system of Democracy.

How is it possible that the nation is in a frenzy over a handful of flawed ballots in Palm Beach but remains mute to the usurpation of America's most cherished possession -- the right to vote, by hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and resident aliens?

In the 106th Congress, Rep. Bob Stump introduced legislation to repeal the Motor Voter law. This would be an excellent way to stop the process of registering non-citizens to vote. In the 105th Congress, Rep. Steve Horn introduced the Voter Eligibility Verification Act which would allow states to access a national database to reduce the incidence of non-citizens voting in U.S. elections. Unless American citizens don't mind the fact that their votes are being canceled out by non-citizens, they should contact their Representative and Senators, demanding the immediate passage of both of these bills.
