For years, emergency service workers in cities with large illegal alien populations have complained about the number of calls placed to 911 by non-citizens who ask for everything from taxi rides to pizza deliveries. It seems that most of them have no concept of how the system is to be used, or simply do not care.
On Monday, sheriff’s deputies in Martin County, Florida, arrested Baudillo Salamon Aguilar-Lopez for repeatedly abusing the local 911 system.

According to the arrest report, Aguilar-Lopez first called 911 at 12:29 a.m. to say he was in need of a taxi and to inquire about the price of a plane ticket from Palm Beach to his native Guatemala.
The report reads: “Dispatch advised him that 911 was not the number he should call for that information.”
A deputy went to Aguilar-Lopez’ residence and advised him not to call 911 again unless he had an actual emergency.
But less than 20 minutes later, he called again asking about a plane ticket to Guatemala.
Another deputy arrived and placed the Guatemalan national under arrest for misuse of 911, a misdemeanor.
Such calls tie-up emergency dispatchers and police, fire and rescue personnel as well, costing taxpayers billions a year and adding to response times for actual emergencies.
In 2009, Lt. Jake Nyhart with the St. Petersburg Fire Department spoke about the problem to the St. Petersburg Times, saying: “We err on the side of responding. That one time you miss a real call and someone dies, you’re liable.”
